Anglers Make Ready for 32nd Citgo Bassmasters Classic
USSFN: 7/20/2002 (Birmingham, AL) - The 52 top anglers are finding new challenges at Lay Lake. Bays that once were good producers are now grass filled and only marginal sources of trophies. The Classic hasn't been held here since 1996, and experts agree that the more than 12,000 acres of water have improved greatly since then. Some are already speculating that it could take over 40 lbs. at weigh-in time to win the top prize of $200,000.
The 32nd Annual Citgo Bassmasters Classic will be held July 22-27. ESPN and ESPN2 plan to offer same day coverage on the last three days of the event.
