Countless
Crappie in Cajun Country
USSFN 2/22/03 - Crappie season is in full swing throughout the ArkLaTex area
as anglers are cashing in on big numbers of early crappie. Local
tournaments are being held weekly and you don't have to look very far to
find one. One of the favorites in Northern Louisiana is the Black
Crappie which is stocked in good numbers.
For those of you in the Northern U.S., now is the time to take a break from
all the snow and ice. With an average high temperature of around 60
degrees or more, late February and March continue to be great months here
for these panfish delights.
This all makes for some fast action for all ages in the spring.
Whether fishing from one of the piers, the lakefront, or from a boat, you're
almost guaranteed a good time here. If you're bringing the tribe with
you, and some don't like to fish, nearby Arcadia, LA offers an outlet mall
and the very popular Bonnie & Clyde Trade Days Flea Market Fridays through
Sundays. If you're curious as to the name, Arcadia was the town where
Bonnie and Clyde Barrow faced their final showdown with law enforcement
officers. -
