Planning Float
Tube Trip 7/7/2002 by Jim Bess Many times the success of a trip depends entirely on the planning of the trip to the most remote detail. Accuracy in the details makes for a successful trip but always make a point to maintain your planning to the fewest people necessary. Adamantly accused by wife of seventeen years of being entirely to anal when it comes to planning. The determination is that others may not have fun as you tediously plan your trip. Nevertheless, with family obligations and limited time to go fishing I felt would share a day of planning, followed by a report on the days actual fishing. With time constraints, my options needed to be specific to available time and travel. Based on the fact that I would like to have a decent half-day of fishing I need optimize any and all opportunities. Please note the following areas of attack; Location, Supplies, Tackle, Arrival Time, Actual Start Time and Departure Time.
The spinning Rod
and Reel doubles as a beating stick from wandering Cottonmouth Snakes, which
have been an issue at times. Tackle is minimal but will meet my needs for
such a minimal trip. The late afternoon will allow me to spend some time
with my wife, grandchildren, nieces, daughters and my mother. |
