Outdoor enthusiasts of all ages will treasure holiday gifts of fun from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR). And shopping via the Internet at ohiodnr.com puts dozens of gifts as close as your personal computer.

Gift certificates for overnight stays and services in Ohio State Parks; Cardinal Camper Club memberships; nature viewing guides, fishing maps and a variety of novelty items such as shirts, caps and stuffed toys are available online, as well as at many individual parks.

Resort Lodge Getaways

Week-long or weekend getaways to one of the eight premium Ohio State Parks resort lodges make great gifts for couples and families. All resort lodges now offer indoor pools and other fitness facilities, as well as full-service restaurants, lounges, gift shops and other amenities.

Resort lodge gift certificates for Mohican State Park in Ashland County, Burr Oak State Park in Morgan County, Salt Fork State Park in Guernsey County, Maumee State Park in Lucas County, Shawnee State Park in Scioto County, Hueston Woods State Park in Preble County and Punderson State Park in Geauga County are available in any denomination by calling 1-800-ATA-PARK.

Cardinal Camper Club Memberships - Only $25!

Camping enthusiasts will benefit from memberships in the Cardinal Camper Club. Each $25 per family membership brings one year of discounts on fees in state park campgrounds. Members receive a 15 percent discount on camping fees from April through October and a 20 percent discount on fees from November through March. Membership forms are available online, at individual park offices or by calling 614-265-6561.

T-Shirts, Sweatshirts, Stuffed Toys And More

Visit the ODNR online Christmas Gift Page or an Ohio State Parks gift shop for a variety of apparel and novelty gifts for adults and children, including t-shirts, golf shirts, sweatshirts and ball caps.

The Ohio Wildlife Viewing Guide, the Ohio Fishing Guide and the Guide To Ohio State Parks are also available, as are hiking stick medallions, frisbees, pen knives, Smokey Bear dolls in three sizes, Tuffy Turtle dolls, and other novelties. Purchase items online or by calling 1-614-265-6561.

Handbooks, Fishing Maps Make Great Stocking Stuffers

Outdoor adventures become even more fun with the right handbooks and maps to guide exploration. Amateur geologists and archeologists will value ODNR's Fossils of Ohio and Minerals of Ohio, two handbooks that are as educational as they are entertaining. Fossils of Ohio, $20. Minerals of Ohio, $11. Tax and handling are extra.

Anglers will find the best fishing holes with the ODNR fishing map set that includes information on 72 inland Ohio lakes, as well as portions of the Ohio River and Lake Erie. Each set comes in a ring binder and is $15, tax and handling extra.
