Which Way Did They Go?
Shreveport, LA: 8/03/02 - Anglers competing in the Annual
Reeves Bass Tournament will be facing a tough challenge. The tourney
is scheduled to be held August 10, 2002 on Cross Lake located in Caddo
County on the north side of Shreveport. The only problem is that the
only thing biting on Cross Lake right now seems to be catfish.
Local anglers are doing well at nearby Caddo Lake on the Louisiana/Texas
border and on the Red River dividing Shreveport and Bossier City, but not
so here. The contestants will have to ask each other "Which way did
they go?". Summer patterns are producing very little yields of bass.
This should be an interesting contest between top fishermen and the
elusive trophies below the water's surface.
Making things worse is the local shortage of Catalpa Worms. These
tasty tidbits, a favorite of locals, are few and far between in this area.
Will Berkley Power Worms, Rattle Traps, spinnerbaits, and buzzbaits take
up the slack? We'll wait and see. |
